Combine Schengen destination with Cyprus
Visitors to Cyprus who wish to combine a short stay via Cyprus to any Schengen state can now enjoy their stay with no Cyprus transit visa. The recent decision by the government of Cyprus will therefore allow a tourist to combine a short stay in Cyprus (maximum five days) whilst flying to a final Schengen destination. The documents needed would be a valid Schengen visa - therefore it would be a great package combination for a quick trip to Europe with a short stay on our island!
From Cyprus Pound to Euro as of 2008!
On 1 January 2008 the euro will become the official currency of Cyprus, replacing the Cyprus pound. Euro banknotes and coins will be put into circulation and will become legal tender in the Republic of Cyprus. In parallel, all accounts with banks and cooperative credit institutions that are denominated in pounds will automatically be converted into accounts denominated in euro, free of charge.
Parallel circulation of the pound and the euro (1 – 31 January 2008)
• For a period of one month after the adoption of the euro, banknotes and coins in Cyprus pounds will circulate in parallel with the euro and will be accepted for payments.
• All non-cash transactions (by means of cheque, card etc.) will be carried out exclusively in euro.
• Businesses should give change only in euro.

Cyprus Rally 2007
This year's exiting and highly anticipated Cyprus Rally will coincide with the Eid break, so anyone heading down to Lemesos will not only look forward to enjoy a Mediterranean café-atmosphere beach town, but also will witness one of the most anticipated annual sports event. The 2007 Cyprus rally will also tie up with the Antique Car Race Cyprus – a round of the 2007 Historic Rally Championship.
Current leader of the Middle East Rally Championship Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi of the UAE will also look forward to keep his lead over Qatar’s Al Attiyah, who won the Troodos mountains race earlier this year.

CTO hosts dinner and discussion with Jordanian travel professionals
On the 3rd of September 2007 The CTO office Dubai held a dinner to take time and share information with experienced travel professionals in Amman. The dinner included short presentations by the CTO, Cyprus Airways and travel agents.
