Arrivals Increase as Travelers Start Re-Discovering Cyprus form The Middle East
29th October 2006, Dubai-Arrivals from the Middle East and Arabian Gulf are continuing to soar for the island state of Cyprus with a 19% increase compared to 2005. September proved to be the most successful month for that Cyprus has ever experienced from guests arriving from the UAE, and surely 2006 will prove to be a record year.
“Agents have started to realize that sending their guests to Cyprus is advantageous and above all simple top sell” –says Vassilis Theocharides , Director of the Cyprus Tourist Office –Middle East, which attributes growth to the ease and comfort of agents to sell Cyprus as a holiday destination. “A new international campaign created by Adel - Saatchi & Saatchi has also been recently launched called “Love Cyprus” , which will allow us to better inform the public of what we believe best represents the name Cyprus” added Theocharides
Eid holidays, Christmas and the New Year will be perfect opportunities for travelers in the region to discover Cyprus as it a ‘stone throw away’ from most Middle Eastern destination. Winter on the island state is mild and usually temperatures do not go below 15C, although one can find snow and even ski in the picturesque mighty Troodos Mountains.
What to Pack
Cyprus is southern Mediterranean island, so there are very little extremes, Summers are hot, but seldom reach of 32C and winters are mild, however this is the island of all seasons and we believe the information below is worth noting..
April - May
Days are pleasantly warm, but temperatures may fall a bit at night.
Medium-weight and summer apparel: Light woollies or long sleeved cotton for the evenings.
Excellent season for those who prefer to enjoy nature, as the countryside is green and flowers are in blossom.

Warmest months of summer yet very little humidity!
Very light weight summer clothing.
Ideal for swimming and all beach/water activities.

It may rain occasionally yet the promise of glorious sunshine is still there.

Outdoor activities and excursions can be enjoyed.
February
The possibility of exceptionally warm days. Almond trees in bloom, occasional rain, and mild day time temperatures are the harbingers of spring. It can be quite cold however in the evenings.
