New golf course opening in Pafos

One of the most important new European golf courses of recent years, The Elea Golf Club near Pafos, will be officially opened this autumn by the course’s designer and six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo.

The Elea Golf Club, which is 8km away from Pafos International Airport, will be the centerpiece of Elea Estate, a premium development that will boast luxurious villas and apartments, a boutique hotel supported by a range of dining options and extensive spa facilities.

Lebanese rower Chafic Ghazale reaches Lebanon from Capo Greco Cyprus
 

Tremendous efforts were made by the rower Chafic Ghazale who spent 38 hours rowing 200 km with over 20,000 rows until he reached his home country with a speed of 5 km/ hour.

This is the first time any Lebanese has dine such an athletic activity. The Cyprus Tourism Organisation supported this initiative to bring even closer the relationships between our two countries which are now also accessible by canoe!
 

Open air double-decker buses start routes in Larnaka Region
 

The Larnaka Regional Tourism Body gladly announces the commencement of tours in the city and region of Larnaka in May 2010 with two open air double-decker buses.

The aim of routing these two open air buses is to offer tourists an exciting excursion in the most appealing points of interest of the city and region of Larnaka with an alternative means of transport. This way, the tourist shall get to know the traditional villages of the region - which have in the past few years greatly developed their agrotourism product - and also get acquainted with the rich history and culture of the Larnaka region.

The Antiquities Department in cooperation with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation has started a new service for the usage of selected archaeological sites for conferences and incentives affairs.

The sites that are available as well as the aims for which they can be developed are mentioned in http://www.visitcyprus.biz, which should be completed and be sent to the CTO’s emails as stated at the end of the document, the latest six weeks ahead of the event.

The CTO shall confirm with the Antiquities Department that the use of the archaeological sites is for the aims of conference tourism and the Antiquities Department shall act with the lawful procedures for the use of the sites.

Medieval Castle Lemesos
Pafos Fort
Kourion Amphitheatre
