Apostolic visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to
Cyprus
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI will be visiting Cyprus
from the 4th to the 6th of June, where he shall be
visiting holy sites and carrying out a mass for the
Eucharistic Celebration on the occasion of the
publication of the Instrumentum laboris of the
Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of
Bishops - Eleftheria sports centre (Nicosia, 6 June
2010)
New visa issuing centers for the Middle East
If you are planning a short stay or a holiday in Cyprus
from the UAE , you may now apply from our newly opened
Embassy in Abu Dhabi (visas will no longer be
issued from Dubai) and Amman;
The embassy in Abu Dhabi will be processing visas from
1-3 working days in order to give better service to all
visitors to Cyprus.

Use your Schengen visa to enter
Cyprus with no need of a Cypriot visa!
On the 4th of March 2009, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus announced new special
measures to increase tourism with regards to the current
world economic crisis which is mentioned below;
Entrance to the Republic is of national interest, this
measure is geared for all those from non-EU countries
holding valid Schengen entry visas.
With regards to these new developments please read
below;
Residents of non-EU countries who hold valid Schengen
visas and who have already entered Schengen countries,
as per the Schengen regulations, may now travel to
Cyprus without applying for a National Cypriot visa and
stay in the Republic for the duration of their Schengen
visa.
The new legislation is crucial for all agents selling
Cyprus, as effective immediately travelers from the
region can access Cyprus swiftly and with less
bureaucracy!
Arabian Travel Market 2010
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation will be participating
with Cypriot travel professionals at the Arabian Travel
Market, which is the largest tourism exhibition in the
Middle East, taking place at the DICEC exhibition centre
in Dubai, from the 4th of May to the 7th of May. Please

The tourism market is still strong from the Middle East
and has made Cyprus one of its chosen destinations due
to its proximity, high level specialized travel
professionals and its competitive season rates.
