Get out of the city and head towards rural accommodation

Anyone who prefers the charm of a quiet rural environment to the hustle and bustle of a tourist resort can opt to stay at a traditional house in a village, in accommodation known in Cyprus as ‘Agrotourism’.

These properties are renovated traditional village houses .All have modern kitchens and bathrooms which are furnished with rustic –traditional interiors. Most of the houses have a garden where you can enjoy such delights as lemons and oranges fresh from the tree and many have a private swimming pool as well perfect for the family!

Cyprus Night in Cairo

CTO sponsored a “Cyprus Night” in Cairo on 18 April 2008, as part of a 3 days activities that covered Cyprus economic, educational and tourism aspects. In the photo a traditional dancer performs a dance with a balanced tower of cups skillfully added on top of each other after each dance session.

Mayday 10 kilometers run. Open to all ages.

Flamenco Dances with Cristobal Reyes and company. Lefkosia Municipal Theatre.

7 - 31 May 2008
11th European Dance Festival. Organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Embassies of the participating countries and the Rialto Theatre.
Venue: Rialto Theatre. Lemesos.

7 May - 2 July 2008
8th Pharos Chamber Music Festival. Classical music with many exceptional musicians. Lefkosia and Pafos.

9 May 2008
“The Adventures of Faust” with the Black Theatre of Prague. It includes puppetry, dancing and singing. Organised by the Alkyon Productions.
Venue: Rialto Theatre. Lemesos.

World Aquabike Cyprus Grand Prix 2008

A ceramic exhibition by Cypriot and Maltese ceramists. Organised by the Larnaka Municipality.

2nd Rose Festival in Troodos Mountains. The programme of the events includes amongst others an art exhibition, music and dance performance and active participation in rose-picking and distillation process.Organised by the Agros Community Board.

Flower Festival (Anthestiria). A celebration for the coming of Spring and the renewal of nature and life dating back to Ancient Greece. Celebrated in Lemesos, Pafos and other locations.

"To Aphrodite": An event which includes poetry, music, chorus from ancient hymns dedicated to the ancient Goddess Aphrodite. Organised by the Geroskipou Municipality and the Kouklia Community Board. Geroskipou, near Pafos.

مشاركون جدد من القطاع السياحي القبرصي في سوق السفر العربي

ستشارك منظمة السياحة القبرصية في سوق السفر العربي في دبي مع عدد من ممثلي السفر والسياحة القادمين من قبرص. يعتبر هذا المعرض أكبر معرض من نوعه في المنطقة وسينعقد هذا العام من 6-9 مايو / أيار 2008.

بهذه المناسبة نرجو منكم زيارة جناحنا في قاعة زعبيل (رقم 540) والتعرف على المشاركين وهم:

ابتعد عن نطاق المدن واتجه نحو المناطق الريفية

من يفضل التمتع بسحر وجاذبية البيئة الريفية المتميزة بالهدوء والسكينة (على النقيض من صخب المناطق السياحية الساحلية) يستطيع أن يمضي إجازته في بيت من البيوت التقليدية في الريف القبرصي (ولاسيما في المنطقة الجبلية).

أمسية قبرصية في الدوحة (قطر)

أقامت منظمة السياحة القبرصية أمسية سياحية في الدوحة (قطر) تضمنت تقديم مأكولات وموسيقى قبرصية تقليدية خالصة. في الصورة: طاقم قسم الأغذية والمشروبات في فندق انتركونتننتال الدوحة وهم يحضرون المأكولات القبرصية خصيصاً من أجل الأيام الثلاثة الخاصة بقبرص. ويظهر في الصورة فاسيليس ثيوخاريديس، مدير منظمة السياحة القبرصية في الشرق الأوسط والخليج العربي.

أمسية قبرصية في القاهرة (مصر)

قامت منظمة السياحة القبرصية برعاية أمسية قبرصية بتاريخ 18 أبريل / نيسان 2008 كجزء من فعاليات اقتصادية، تربوية وسياحية قبرصية في العاصمة المصرية استمرت لثلاثة أيام. وفي الصورة راقص تقليدي قبرصي يقوم بموازنة عدد كبير من الأكواب المضافة إلى بعضها البعض بعد كل وصلة موسيقية.

مسيرة لمسافة عشرة كيلومترات بمناسبة عيد العمال. الاشتراك في المسيرة متاح لكل الأعمار. موقع الانطلاق: "بئر الفرنجة" (أفروديت هيلبورن – على طريق ليميسوس – بافوس السريع).

6-7 مايو 2008
رقص فلامينكو تقديم كريستوبل رييس وفرقته في مسرح بلدية ليفكوسيا.

7-31 مايو 2008
مهرجان الرقص الأوروبي الحادي عشر. تنظيم وزارة التربية والثقافة بالتعاون مع سفارات الدول المشاركة في المهرجان. الموقع: مسرح ريالتو، ليميسوس.

7 مايو – 2 يوليو 2008
مهرجان فاروس لموسيقى الحجرة الثامن. موسيقى كلاسيكية بحضور عدد كبير من الموسيقيين المميزين.

"مغامرات فاوست" مع المسرح الأسود في براغ. يتضمن العرض دمى مسرحية، رقص وغناء. تنظيم ألكيون للإنتاج. الموقع: مسرح ريالتو في ليميسوس.

سباق قبرص الكبير للدراجات المائية (أكوابايك) 2008.

مسرح سيراميك (خزف) باشتراك فناني خزف من قبرص ومالطة، تنظيم بلدية لارنكا، قسم صالة العرض.

10-11 مايو 2008
مهرجان الورد الثاني في جبال ترودوس. يتضمن البرنامج معرضاً فنياً، موسيقى، رقص استعراضي ومشاركة حية في عملية قطف الورود وتقطيرها. تنظيم هيئة قرية أرجوس.

مهرجان الزهور (أنثيستيريا): وهو مهرجان احتفالي يعود إلى اليونانيين القدماء بمناسبة قدوم فصل الربيع وتجدد الطبيعة والحياة. يتم الاحتفال به في ليميسوس وبافوس ومواقع أخرى.

رالي السيارات التاريخية العشرين في ليفكوسيا، تنظيم أصدقاء السيارات القديمة والتاريخية في قبرص.

معرض قبرص الدولي الثالث والثلاثين. معرض عام غني بالزوار والمعروضات الصناعية. الموقع: أرض المعارض الدولية في ليفكوسيا.

"إلى أفروديت": حدث يتضمن إلقاء قصائد وأناشيد مستمدة من تراتيل قديمة ومكرسة للآلهة أفروديت، تنظيم بلدية ييروسكيبيو وهيئة قرية كوكليا. الموقع: ييروسكيبو، قرب بافوس.
