May 2007 Newsletter:
Joint Conference CTO and Jazeera Airways
Welcome speech by the Mr. Panos Englezos, Chairman of Cyprus Tourism Organisation during the joint conference with Jazeera Airways on 7th May 2007, Nicosia, Cyprus.
On behalf of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation I am delighted to welcome you all here this morning to share our excitement with the arrival of Jazeera Airways to Cyprus.
In particular I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr.Marwan Boodai, CEO of Jazeera Airways for honoring us with his presence on this special day and to offer a special welcome to our HE Khaled Muthaq-Al Duwailah , our distinguished guests from the Kuwaiti civil aviation and media.
We are here together to celebrate an important day in the new relations between Cyprus and Kuwait. We believe this new scheduled flight will bring the long awaited Kuwaitis back to Cyprus and re-strengthen the strong ties our nations people have had for many years.
Since 2005 the Cyprus Tourism Organisation has achieved many milestones in the Arab countries. Our efforts have expanded airline connections and our work is being recognized throughout the Arab world. We know Cyprus can offer many experiences to the Jazeera passengers , let it be a family holiday, romantic break, medical reasons or coming to a conference, all in just a short flight away. Cyprus is also Jazeera’s first European destination, which makes it crucial for us as it is also the first Low cost carrier arriving in Larnaca from the Arab Market.
Strengthening our cooperation with Jazeera Airways is one of my priorities. Therefore I am pleased to formalize the joint marketing campaign the CTO and Jazeera will undertake in Kuwait to make sure this flight is successful and the Kuwaiti population re-kindles its love with our island.
Thank you for your attention.
