Cyprus to host finals of "World Team Challenge"
It is a great success and enormous honour for Cyprus to have been chosen to host the finals of the “World Team Challenge” between the 11th and the 14th of December 2008. This excellent development is the result of the hard work and coordinated efforts of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation.
The "World Team Challenge" includes a series of sporting events in which executives from leading international companies such as Dell, Volvo, HSBC, IBM and others compete against each other. The contestants are chosen following a series of 15 events that take place in countries of Europe, Asia and America. The ultimate goal of the activities is to help participants expand their leadership qualities, productivity and contact network, while at the same time improving their fitness levels.
Cyprus is expected to host 50 teams from 20 countries. Of particular importance is the fact that the games will receive television coverage from UK’s Channel 4, Eurosport and ESB.
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation, which is sponsoring the event, considers the fact that the “World Team Challenge” finals will be taking place in Cyprus an excellent opportunity to promote our island abroad as an ideal destination for Conference and Incentive Tourism and Sports Tourism. At the same time the singular natural beauty of the island will be promoted as well as many other features of Cyprus as a tourist destination.

Getting around Cyprus
It’s surprisingly easy to get around Cyprus. The island has an excellent road network that is clearly signposted in both English and Greek. Driving is on the left and car hire is inexpensive, with all the top car hire firms represented, as well as a host of local providers. Bike hire is also readily available for those who wish to explore the island at a more leisurely pace.
However if you don’t want to drive, there are several tour operators that organize excursions in luxury air-conditioned buses to all the islands most popular places of interest.
Local service taxis (shared) and bus services also operate between all the main towns.
