June 2007 Newsletter:
CTO visits Jeddah & Riyadh
The CTO carried out two presentations and ‘get-togethers’
in the Kingdoms two major cities of Riyadh and Jeddah.
Agents were invited to view a presentation on Cyprus for
the upcoming summer holidays and have a question and answer
session. The interaction between the Saudi professionals
and the CTO was crucial, as everyone gained valuable insight
on the impressive Saudi outbound market.
CTO goes shopping at the
Abu Dhabi Mall
The highly successful Abu Dhabi Mall exhibition organized
by ATTAC (Association of Travel and Tourism Commission)
was a great chance for the CTO to present our destination
the daily shoppers in the Abu Dhabi Mall. The event was
organized from the 16-19 of May, and gathered all the
major Abu Dhabi travel agents. The continuous efforts
of ATTAC to support the travel industry in the UAE’s capital
always make this exhibition popular amongst the visitors
and the trade.
Day Trip to the beautiful
crystal shores of Cape Gkreko
If you’re in the mood for a scenic drive, hop in your
rental car and head east out of Larnaka on the coast road.
Soon you’ll pass Dhekelia, one of two British sovereign
base areas on the island. In about twenty minutes you’ll
arrive at the resort town of Agia Napa, with its golden
beaches. Continue east until you reach Cape Gkreko. There
is no much development here, just a perfect landscape
and a small road that leads through it. Take the road
to the very top, where you can park and enjoy a view so
gorgeous you might fancy yourself a great albatross hovering
over the cobalt blue Mediterranean. Continue east to Protaras
where more glorious beaches spread out under the sun,
while just inland you find the town of Paralimni. In the
nearby village of Deryneia there is the Cultural Centre
of the occupied town of Famagusta from where you can gaze
the "ghost" city.
