Cyprus reaches record
of eco-friendly beaches
According to the "Blue Flag
Campaign", a European environmental initiative
set up by the non-profit organization "Foundation
for Environment Education" which works towards
sustainable development at beaches / marinas through
strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental
education and information, Cyprus was granted a
99% satisfaction rate on its shores.
Cyprus reached this highest rate from 20 countries
in the European Union. As a tourist destination

First time campaign
of CTO in Jordan
The CTO is beginning to target the Jordanian market
actively by launching its media campaign in the
streets of Amman. Following the 2008 strategy, an
outdoor campaign of "Love Cyprus" started
this summer in Amman. "Cyprus is a neighboring
country and ideal short-haul beach and MICE destination
for the Jordanian market", says Vassilis Theocharides,
CTO Director in the Middle East and Arabian Gulf.
Apart from the outdoor campaign, special presentations
were also undertaken in major Jordanian agencies
to promote our destination. Furthermore, Cyprus
is also soon opening an Embassy in Jordan, which
will facilitate relation between this two historic
friendly nations and raise the awareness of our
destination.
