This Month's Feature:
The CTO would like to express its deepest sympathies with the people whom are continuing to suffer in the recent Middle East tragedy. Cyprus will continue its tremendous efforts in offering aid to all citizens which are using the island as an evacuation point. Needless to say that Cyprus is busy at the moment, due to the short stay transiting evacuees from Lebanon and to the yearly high arrivals of tourists, however hoteliers can confirm there is still availability in most cities such as Pafos and Lemesos.
Second World Health Tourism Congress – Lemesos, Cyprus, March 2007
The Second Annual World Health Tourism Congress will be held in Cyprus, at the Le Meridien Limassol Spa and Resort from March 23rd to the 26th 2007. The Congress is sponsored and supported by the Cyprus Tourism Organization as part of its actions to develop and promote Health Tourism in Cyprus. "Aura Events", an Events Organizer based in Dubai, U.A.E., has just hosted the First Annual World Health Tourism Congress in the City of Wiesbaden Germany from May 27 to May 29 2006. Cyprus won the bid to host the 2007 Congress.
.
The World Health Tourism Congress is an Executive Congress selectively targeting Corporate Buyers (instead of individual consumers) - and focuses on Sales (instead of marketing and branding). The Congress is designed to bring the willing and empowered buyer of Health Tourism Services in direct and personal contact with the provider of Health Tourism Services – and to encourage ‘”Deals and Agreements”. The Buyer (who is a confirmed decision maker with a mandate to buy) comes to see what is available, express his needs and consider offerings. The Provider comes to showcase and offer his services to the willing and empowered decision-maker.
At the First Annual Congress, the Organizers hosted 150 qualified Corporate Buyers from the GCC / Gulf Area (60%), Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. Buyers came to consider the offerings of 55 Providers of Health Tourism Services [e.g., private clinics and hospitals, hotels with spa facilities], from Asia, the Middle East, South Africa and Europe.
The format of the event is based on pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings with selected Buyers. In addition, there are a few workshops occurring, specifically developed for the Congress and presented by experts with a deep knowledge and understanding of Health Tourism. Ample informal networking opportunities are also provided during the several coffee breaks and social events (cocktail receptions, luncheons and Gala Dinner).
