Cyprus: where business is a pleasure
Autumn begins with the grape picking season, where warm, auburn colors transform the landscapes into van Gogh paintings. The abundant olive trees are harvested in autumn as well, and their silver foliage glistens as the healthy fruit are picked and processed into rich, virgin olive oil.
One of the most important factors in selecting a destination for business travel is the local experience. Cyprus is practically in the center of the global map. It is located in the crossroads of 3 continents. Just over 1 hour by air from the Levant and 3 hours the Gulf states, Cyprus offers everything needed to make a successful conference or incentive - plus much more.
The compact size of Cyprus (9.250 sq km – about the size of Lebanon) captures the essence of the abundance of nature’s offerings. Cyprus is one of only a few places on the planet, where you can conveniently enjoy downhill skiing and swimming in the sea on the same day without having to travel hundreds of miles. Within a five minute distance by car from many luscious sandy beaches you can reach mountain areas. From forests up in the heart of Troodos that include mystic and refreshing waterfalls and cedar trees to citrus tree orchards or bush-like areas along the coast or fields that span as far as the eye can see. Water in the sea is so clear that you can see the pebbles in the water from a cliff 30m high. You can enjoy a swim in a sea area 5m deep with sand so white you can see the grains from a boat – as if you are in a massive swimming pool. Needless to mention the dramatic scenery and romantic sunsets…
There are approximately 350 conference rooms available island-wide, offering 30.000 person seating capacities. As far as conference centers are concerned, Lefkosia (Nicosia) has also the Cyprus Conference Center – with 1.200 person seating capacity – and the State Fairs Conference Center with similar capacity. Plans are already on the way for developing a 2.000 person capacity conference center in the Lemesos (Limassol) area.
With three 3 world-class golf courses and about 30 award-winning luxury spas, all of which are part of luxurious resorts, Cyprus is climbing fast to the preferred list of well-being destinations.
Other activities that a visitor can experience in Cyprus are any type of sports, including professional sports training - all-year-round due to the climate - water sports, cycling, hiking, trekking, diving, snorkeling, horse riding… the list is endless.
